Two dead following car crash
October 8, 2012 Updated Oct 8, 2012 at 2:46 PM CDT RURAL CHENOA, Ill. -- Two McLean County residents are dead following a fatal car crash.
Just after 9:00 Sunday night, authorities were called to the intersection of 3360 East and Route 24, in rural Chenoa. There, they found a man and woman trapped in an automobile that had been struck by a semi tractor trailer.
Eldon Kaeb, 52, and his wife Stephanie Kaeb, 45, of rural Arrowsmith were pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. The driver of the semi was not injured.
McLean County coroner Beth Kimmerling says that the couple had recently left a family gathering and were headed to Wisconsin when the incident occured.
The Kaebs left behind nine children. An autopsy is set for Tuesday.
