BLOOMINGTON — An Arrowsmith couple died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries suffered during a two-vehicle accident Sunday night near Chenoa.
McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling said Eldon and Stephanie Kaeb left a family gathering just prior to the accident and there is no evidence of drugs and/or alcohol as a contributing factor. A medical event precipitating the crash also has been ruled out, she said.
“For an unknown reason, their vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign on 3360 East Road,” she said in a news release.
The vehicle collided with a semitrailer truck about 9:15 p.m. Sunday. The truck driver was not injured.
Kimmerling said Eldon Kaeb, 52, was the driver of the car and died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries to the head and chest area. Stephanie Kaeb, 45, died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries to the head, chest and abdomen.
